The present study assessed the deleterious effects of fluazuron 2.5% (2.5 mg/kg) and fluazuron 3% + abamectin 0.5% (3 mg/kg + 500 mcg/kg) on the reproductive parameters of engorged R. (B.) microplus females that naturally detached from experimentally infested cattle in two different studies. In experiment I,the pour-on application of fluazuron (2.5 mg/kg) presented an acaricidal efficacy higher than 80% from day 16 post-treatment (p. t.) up until day 45, being above 90% from day 19 to day 32. It also exceeded 80% on days 53 to 59, 63 and 64 p. t. The treated group demonstrated a 36.75% reduction in oviposition, 57.73% reduction in hatchability and fluazuron reproductive efficacy was 65.41%. In experiment II, the association of fluazuron and abamectin (3 mg/kg + 500 mcg/kg) presented acaricidal efficacy higher than 80% from day 16 until day 85. The efficacy was higher than 90% from days 18 to 85 p. t. The formulation percentage of reduction in oviposition of engorged female ticks was 95.47%. It presented a reduction of 100% in hatchability and the percentage of efficacy of this formulation on the reproductive parameters of engorged female ticks also achieved 100%. Comparing both experiments it is possible to observe that the association between fluazuron and abamectin presented highest acaricidal efficacies and more deleterious effects on the reproductive parameters of engorged R. (B.) microplus females, when compared to formulation that contain fluazuron 2.5%.
